Castillo Ygay, crowned “Best Wine in the World” by Wine Spectator magazine, has again won the plaudits of top international wine critics with its soon to be released 2012 vintage.
Prestigious American critic James Suckling, a leading figure in the wine sector, was the first to rave about this jewel of a wine, awarding it 100 points (the maximum score), after tasting over 4,000 references.
Castillo Ygay has once again entered into the history books, cementing its place in the upper echelons of the world’s great wines and as the foremost exponent of top quality wine in Spain.
2012 vintage

Castillo Ygay is one of the most highly-acclaimed wines in the world and on 15 occasions it has been given the coveted 100-point score by the sector’s leading critics (James Suckling, Robert Parker, Decanter and Falstaff). Its 1986 white became the first Spanish white wine to be awarded the perfect score by Robert Parker.
2020 proved a turning point in the image and reputation of Spanish wine when Castillo Ygay was crowned “Best Wine in the World” by the American magazine Wine Spectator.
