Marqués de Murrieta, a pioneering Rioja winery founded in 1852, has opened the doors of its exclusive new headquarters in Madrid, "Casa Murrieta", an innovative concept in the world of wine that will serve as the brand’s private social space at an international level.
The winery has taken another step in its ongoing evolution with this new headquarters, which includes spacious facilities for its office team as well as a private 1,000 m² space in the heart of the Spanish capital’s financial district, where wine culture, design, and luxury come together.

“Casa Murrieta brings the essence of our Rioja and Rías Baixas wineries to Madrid, creating the perfect atmosphere in which to enjoy our wines accompanied by the finest cuisine. We have opened a unique space where architecture and interior design have played a decisive role under the direction of Lázaro Rosa-Violán,” says the winery’s president, Vicente D. Cebrián-Sagarriga.
The social area, the centerpiece of this new space, includes a spectacular wine cellar, a tasting room, dining room, private lounge, and a large landscaped courtyard designed by the Locus Landscape studio. This social zone will host tastings and presentations for professionals connected with the historic winery from around the world.
Art and Wine
Casa Murrieta is also a private artistic and cultural center. Its spaces house an exclusive art selection that flows through its interconnected rooms, featuring works by artists such as Chillida, Alexander Calder, Ramon Enrich, Joan Miró, Pablo Palazuelo, and Antoni Tàpies.

“I am filled with satisfaction at having succeeded in bringing the spirit of excellence of a number one winery to Madrid, carrying its essence to a city that is, without a doubt, also excellent. A challenge that both my team and I have faced with enthusiasm and that we proudly celebrate today,” highlights Lázaro Rosa-Violán.
“Working on Casa Murrieta has been a truly passionate experience. From the outset we understood that the concept was not to design an office, but a home, a ‘house’ in the deepest sense. At Casa Murrieta, the garden is not just an aesthetic element: it is a firm statement from the owners toward sustainability, excellence, and the integration of nature into everyday life,” explains Gonzalo Morillo, founder of the landscaping studio Locus Landscape.
This opening also coincides with the recent recognition by Forbes International, which named Marqués de Murrieta the best winery in Europe in the prestigious The World’s 50 Best Wineries ranking.
