Marqués de Murrieta, a pioneering Rioja winery (1852), has presented its new Christmas spot, an audiovisual piece in which wine and music intertwine in a dialogue where elegance and sensitivity take centre stage. This release coincides with the recent recognition from the international edition of Forbes, which named it the best winery in Europe and the third best in the world in the prestigious ranking “The World's 50 Best Wineries 2025”.
In the short film, viewers are guided by the musical work of pianist Daniel Amatriain through the most emblematic spaces of the historic Finca Ygay, birthplace of some of the most awarded Spanish wines in the world. The aesthetic of the video is deliberately warm and deeply emotional, with a visual narrative that reveals highly significant spaces in the history of the winery and, ultimately, of Spanish wine.
Universal language
Pianist Daniel Amatrian performs a composition created exclusively for the winery with fragments of other well-known Christmas pieces.
In the video, the musician travels through different corners of the estate: the vineyard at dawn, the barrel room, the vat room of the new winemaking facility, and the interior of the Castle of Ygay, which was declared a museum due to its historical relevance and today houses one of the most extensive collections of historic bottles in Europe.
Each setting becomes a tableau full of harmony, where music and wine engage in a natural dialogue. For José Carlos García, Marketing and Communications Director at Marqués de Murrieta, “both wine and music share the ability to make us feel emotions. They are two universal languages that connect with people regardless of language or culture. With this spot, we want to reflect the essence of a brand linked to art, beauty, craftsmanship, and expertise, delivering a message that is understandable and moving for anyone, anywhere in the world.”
Beyond aesthetics, the spot also draws from a suggestive idea: the relationship between music and wine. “Sound waves are capable of propagating through different media and, in theory, could reach the molecules of the wine inside the barrel. It seemed like the perfect metaphor to express how sensitivity, care, and delicacy can transform a wine into a true work of art,” he adds.
A majestic finale illuminated by more than 1,000 candles
The spot culminates in a spectacular nighttime scene in which the winery gardens are illuminated with more than 1,000 candles, surrounding the piano that leads the piece in a moment of great warmth.
The video was conceived and directed by the Marketing and Communications Department of Marqués de Murrieta, which aimed to translate the essence of the winery and its commitment to excellence into audiovisual language. Technical production was carried out by the video studio JPEG, responsible for capturing the intimate, elegant, and warm atmosphere that defines the piece.
With this new Christmas spot, Marqués de Murrieta celebrates a historic year marked by the Forbes recognition and reaffirms its commitment to continuing to move the world from the birthplace of Rioja.
