Capellanía has been chosen Best White Wine from Rioja with 96 Decanter Points. Castillo Ygay White is the only white wine in the Spanish history to achieve the 100 Parker Points.

One year ago, Spain was taking a step further in the wine scene, positioning its wines in the highest point of the international scene. Castillo Ygay White 1986 was the first and unique spanish white wine to achieve the highest milestone: 100 Parker Score

After being tasted by Luis Gutierrez, the critic responsible for reviewing Spanish wines in Robert Parker’s ‘The Wine Advocate’, he states that it is “one of the best white wines I’ve ever tasted in my whole life.” Castillo Ygay Blanco Gran Reserva Especial 1986 stands as the only wine that has reached the highest score, an even more difficult achievement for a white wine.

Today, Marqués de Murrieta is celebrating the anniversary of those 100 points. And the celebration comes with the best new: Capellanía 2012 has been chosen Best White Wine from Rioja with 96 Decanter Points, the highest score obtained at the tasting.
