Audi chooses Pazo de Barrantes to present its brand new electric car

Our winery Pazo de Barrantes, located in Ribadumia, in the heart of Rías Baixas, has been the place chosen by Audi to present its great novelty in electric vehicles, the spectacular Q6 E-tron.

The German firm has chosen the prestigious Rías Baixas winery, internationally acclaimed for the excellence of its Albariño wines, to present to the press the long-awaited vehicle, which aims to take Audi's electric mobility to a new level. In this sense, the Audi Q6 E-tron also includes an innovative interior design with a futuristic look that envelops the driver thanks to its panoramic digital displays.

Historic location

The chosen location is no coincidence. The Pazo de Barrantes dates back to the beginning of the 16th century and has been linked to the Cebrián-Sagarriga family ever since. It is a unique building, built in stone that has witnessed for centuries important episodes in the history of Galicia, such as the Pact of Barrantes (1930).

Next to the historic building is also the winery, built in stone in 1991 by Vicente Cebrián Sagarriga, 10th Count of Creixell and father of the current owners.

Best Albariño in the world

The flagship of the winery, its wine ‘Gran Vino Pazo Barrantes’, had the honour of being elected last year ‘best albariño in the world’. With a very limited production and careful ageing, this wine won over the influential editors of the American publication Wine & Spirits, an international benchmark in the world of wine.

The grapes used to make this wine come from the Pazo de Barrantes estate, a 12-hectare estate divided into 8 different plots and located around the winery to guarantee maximum quality.  Such is the current demand for the winery's wines that it has had to establish a system of distribution by quotas among the more than 100 countries where it distributes.
