Marqués de Murrieta hosts the closing concert of the La Rioja International Piano Competition
This contest has brought together 52 contestants from 19 countries and hundreds of spectators in the concerts held in different stages of Logroño, with the concert in Marqués de Murrieta being the final touch of the event.
During this event, the winners of the La Rioja International Piano Competition offered a concert to all attendees and received a commemorative gift from Vicente Cebrián-Sagarriga, President of the Winery, who also spoke some emotional words reiterating the commitment of Marqués de Murrieta to culture, art and La Rioja.
Marqués de Murrieta, a pioneer in the production of Rioja wines, was also the first to export them, acquiring that international character that it has maintained to this day by being present in more than 100 countries as an ambassador of the quality of Spanish wines. It is precisely for this reason that the organization decided to hold this concert in the majestic Ygay Castle, the founding headquarters of the Rioja winery, recently declared a museum for its historical importance.
Numerous personalities from La Rioja gathered at the event, such as José Ignacio Pérez Sáenz (Government Delegate of La Rioja), Luis Ignacio Cacho Vicente (Minister of Education and Culture), Fernando Salamero (President of the Regulatory Council of La Rioja), Kilian Cruz-Dunne, María Carmen Urquía Almazán and José Manuel Zúñiga Suescun (Councillors of the City Council) to express their support for culture and a projection of quality abroad for the internationalisation of La Rioja.
