It has been named Best Winery in the World 2015, and touring its vineyards and the Castillo de Ygay shows everyone why. The Castillo de Ygay was founded in 1852 by the Marquis of Murrieta following the architectural style of the Châteaux from Burgundy in which the key concept is a winery surrounded by its own vineyard.
Since then, the Castillo de Ygay has played a key role in the history of Rioja wines. The building itself, which has benefited from an ambitious restoration project lasting more than eight years, represents the perfect balance between respect for the past and the promise of the future. Comprising more than four thousand square meters of local Stone, Ygay contains valuable documentation and equipment from the earliest days of Rioja wine production as well as the most extensive collection of historic bottles in the world.
History and cutting-edge technology combine in the Castillo de Ygay, where unique and exclusive tasting rooms are ready to welcome private group tours (both small and large) and multi-purpose rooms are provided for companies and individuals.
Our guests enjoy the experience of the visit and have the opportunity to taste all our wines, which can be paired with a selection of a wonderful gastronomy. In Marqués de Murrieta you will meet a professional team who will do their best to create an unforgettable experience for you.
