A Spanish wine will feature in the VIP suites at the 2024 Euros

Adding to the purely sporting dimension, Spain will be doubly represented at the 2024 Euros football tournament, which is set to kick off in Germany.

Spanish wines will have a leading ambassador in the main German football grounds of this international tournament and more specifically in the stadiums’ VIP suites.

The wine selected to feature in the stadiums of Berlin (where the final will be held), Munich and Frankfurt, is Marqués de Murrieta 2020, the latest vintage of this Rioja bodega, a winery that dates back to 1852 and one of the world’s benchmark wineries for quality and expertise.

This is the seventeenth edition of the Euros, which is being held in Germany for the second time and expected to surpass the one million spectators achieved in the previous edition in 2020.

The choice of Marqués de Murrieta for the Euros stadiums’ VIP suites comes as no surprise. The winery, which was awarded the title of “Best of 2023” by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, has featured regularly at the leading international sports championships such as Formula 1 motor racing and the official ATP and WTA tennis tournaments.

Marqués de Murrieta 2020

The 2020 Marqués de Murrieta red epitomises the elegance and excellence of the wines produced at this Rioja winery. “This vintage was also one of the most emotionally-charged of the last years, as it was a survival vintage made during COVID and is testimony to Marqués de Murrieta’s commitment to quality,” explained María Vargas, the winery’s technical director and winner of the World’s Best Winemaker award at the Women in Wine & Spirits Awards in 2021.

Made with Tempranillo, Mazuelo (Carignan), Graciano and Grenache, each variety contributes its own personality in a harmoniously balanced oak-aged wine.
