The best winery in the world is Spanish: Marqués de Murrieta wins the “Best Of 2023”

Marqués de Murrieta has received the “Best Of 2023” international award, which places it as the best winery in the world in the prestigious awards granted by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

After winning the national Best Of, the emblematic Rioja winery has competed with the best wineries in the world in this international phase at a ceremony held in Argentina, achieving an indisputable victory. The jury highlighted “the perfect balance between history and modernity felt in the idyllic space made up of the Marqués de Murrieta buildings”, as well as “the excellence achieved in its wines, its international presence and its image”.

The best international projects of each wine region in the world compete each year to earn this award, which this year has gone to Spain, with Marqués de Murrieta, some of its predecessors being Sandeman (Portugal), Château Guiraud (France), Penfolds (Australia) and Krug (United States).

After over six years of construction, Marqués de Murrieta this year opened its new winery, at the global forefront of the sector. The new project encompasses a complex of buildings with over 25,000 square metres allocated to the production and aging of wines, surrounded by over 50,000 square metres of new parks and gardens.

The international jury has recognised the winery as one of the most spectacular tourism projects in the world, and has highlighted Marqués de Murrieta as the perfect example of balance between respect for tradition and continuous innovation.
